Gold Worth Rs 50.80 Lakh Found At Lucknow Airport In Toilet Of Flight From Sharjah

Lucknow, May 15 (TNA) Gold worth Rs 50 lakh has been recovered in a flight from Sharjah to Lucknow. The owner of this smuggled gold however is yet to be traced, an official said. The Custom Department team has recovered gold worth Rs 50.80 lakh from the toilet of the flight that reached Lucknow from Sharjah, it was further informed.

Search is on for the smuggler. IndiGo flight number 6E-1412 arrived at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport from Sharjah on Sunday and during routine checking of the plane a packet was found in the toilet. The packet was pastedwith tape.

When the team took out that packet, it was filled in the form of gold paste. Custom officials said that the gold packet found from the toilet is of 977 grams, which is worth Rs 50,80,400.
