Goods Train Derails In Mirzapur, Route Of Some Trains Changed
Varanasi, Oct 7 (TNA) A Goods train going from Chunar to Chopan derailed in Mirzapur, causing blocade of the route and diversion of some trains, an official said. After the derailment of the goods train train in Mirzapur, work is being done to restart the line as soon as possible. Senior officials are present on the spot and are busy in getting the line started soon.
However, due to Chopan route, Delhi-Howrah main line has not been affected. The goods train - DR-9, was going to Chopan from Chunar yard line 6 of Chunar railway station in Mirzapur. At 6.25 pm, bogies number 26, 27 and 28 of the goods train derailed near pillar number 632/32. The loco pilot of the train immediately informed the control room about the incident.
There was chaos after the news of train derailment. As soon as information about the incident was received, ADEN Abhishek Tomar, SS Major Sinha, AST Mirzapur Rakesh Pandole, RPF in-charge Mohd. Salik and other officers and employees reached the spot.
Muri Express and Triveni Express have been affected after the train derailment. The route of Jammu Tawi-Sambalpur Express has been changed. This train will go to Gondia via Chunar-Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction. Prayagraj-Chopan Express will run from Prayagraj till Mirzapur only.
