Grand Preparation Underway For Tenth International Yoga Day In Agra
Agra June 15 (TNA) The Taj City is all geared up for the coming International Yoga Day on June 21. District officials have drawn up an elaborate plan to involve all sections of the society to popularise Yoga. In anticipation of the upcoming Tenth International Yoga Day on June 21, a comprehensive meeting was convened on Saturday under the leadership of Chief Development Officer Pratibha Singh at the Collectorate Auditorium.
The meeting aimed at ensuring meticulous arrangements for the event, which will feature mass yoga sessions across various locations in the district. During the meeting, officials were briefed on the directives outlined in the government order to guarantee the event’s success. It was emphasized that all preparations, including venue arrangements and cleanliness measures by the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats, and Gram Panchayats, must be completed well in advance.
Notably, mass yoga programmes will be conducted from 6 to 8 am on June 21 at historical sites, government offices, health centres, educational institutions, stadiums, parks, and other designated venues throughout the district.
Furthermore, instructions were issued to upload comprehensive photo and video documentation of the event on the Ayush Kavach app and related platforms. The public is encouraged to participate by uploading their yoga selfies on Ayush Kavach, with certificates to be issued accordingly.
Highlighting the significance of community engagement, the Chief Development Officer emphasized the importance of seamless traffic management around Eklavya Stadium, where the grand mass yoga event will be held. Special provisions including designated selfie points and beverage stalls are being arranged to enhance participant experience.
The inaugural ceremony for Yoga Week will commence at 6 am on Sunday at Eklavya Stadium. As preparations intensify, various departments, organizations, and voluntary associations have been mobilized to ensure the event’s success and promote the ethos of yoga across the district.
The District Panchayat Raj Officer has been tasked with overseeing large-scale celebrations at Gram Panchayats, while respective offices and institutions were urged to actively participate in the celebration of Yoga Day and Yoga Week.
