Heat Wave Alert Sounded For UP, Mercury To Rise By 3-4 Degrees Celsius

Lucknow, May 15 (TNA) After a few days of mild relief, weather in the state is going to change again. The weather department has issued a heat wave warning from May 16. The maximum temperature, which has been below normal for the past few days, has started picking up again. On Monday, the temperature reached around 40 in most areas, and on Tuesday, it was recorded at around 41 degrees in many districts.

The weatherman has issued a heat wave warning on the 16th and 17th. Temperatures are expected to increase by 4 to 6 degrees during the day and 2-3 degrees during the night in the next five days. The mercury in Kanpur was 43 degrees on Tuesday, while on Monday it was 40.8 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Prayagraj increased from 41 degrees to 42.2 degrees Celsius. It reached 40 degrees above 37.5 degrees in Hardoi. In Varanasi, the temperature rose from 39.8 degrees to 41.7 degrees Celsius. The temperature of Lucknow was 40.2 degrees. On Monday, the mercury in Lucknow was recorded at 38.4 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Jalaun, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas which are expected to experience heat wave on May 16 and 17.
