Heat Wave Alert Sounded In Uttar Pradesh, Mercury To Rise By Five Degrees Celsius
Lucknow, April 29 (TNA) A heat wave alert has been sounded for the whole state of Uttar Pradesh and the Met Office has predicted that the night temperature will increase by five degrees. The spell of extreme heat wave is likely to last for five days.
A red alert has been issued for heat waves in West Bengal and Odisha. On the other hand, there was rain and hailstorms with strong winds in Punjab on Saturday. The Meteorological Department has advised pregnant women and children not to leave the house. On the other hand, Friday was the hottest day of the season (40 degrees Celsius) in the national capital Delhi. Senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the maximum night temperature will likely increase by four to five degrees Celsius in many areas of the state for the next two days.
For the next two days, the Meteorological Department has warned Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravi Das Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Gonda, A warning has been issued for hot nights in Kanpur city, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar and surrounding areas.
