Heat Wave Intensifies In Uttar Pradesh, Yellow Alert Sounded

Lucknow, April 19 (TNA) Heat wave continues to grip many parts of Uttar Pradesh, with mercury touching a scalding 44 degrees celsius in Hamirpur and Prayagraj districts. School timings have been changed in some places while others are apparently waiting for instructions from the state government or the heat to get deadlier! A yellow alert has been sounded in the state, which warns of intensifying of the heat wave.

On Tuesday, the Meteorological office recorded high temperatures in Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Rae Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Agra. Whereas in Prayagraj, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.6 degrees. The maximum temperature was recorded at 43 degrees Celsius in Kanpur, 42.6 in Gorakhpur, 43.6 in Rae Bareli, 41.5 in Shahjahanpur and 43.4 degrees Celsius in Agra on Tuesday.

Heat wave warning has been issued now for Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Kabirnagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur and Jhansi.
