History Will Neither Forgive Nor Forget Your Anti-Farmer, Anti-Democracy Acts: Aradhana Mishra 'Mona' Warns BJP

Lucknow, Oct 4 (TNA) Leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ on Monday came down heavily on the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh and said that its dictatorial attitude was shaking the very foundations of the democracy in the country.

Reacting sharply to the way in which several Congress and opposition eladers were placed under house arrest as they planned to proceed to violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri, the Rampur Khas legislator said that it was shameful that while one one hand the BJP government had let loose a reign of terror and brutality on the hapless farmers, on other hand there was a similar crackdown on political parties and their leaders.

“Dictatorship at its worst is unfolding in Uttar Pradesh in the aftermath of the Lakhimpur clashes of Sunday. Democracy is being stifled as Congress leaders are being placed under house arrest and at many places intimidated, physically manhandled and forcibly grounded by the brutal force of Police” she said.

Further pointing out how Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has been detained, leaders from Punjab and Chattisgarh were not being allowed to land in Lucknow, the Congress leader said these acts saw the true colours of the BJP and underlined the fact that they had no faith in either democracy or free dialogue.

She also forewarned the BJP that people and history will “neither forget nor forgive these acts against the farmers, political parties and most impoirtantly democracy”.
