Huge Consignment Of Foreign Liquor Headed For Bihar Seized By Firozabad Police
Firozabad, March 1 (TNA) 802 boxes of English liquor being transported from Chandigarh to Bihar, using fake bills of spare parts have been seized. The value of the recovered liquor has been estimated at Rs 72 lakh. SOG and North Police caught this huge consignment of liquor being smuggled from Chandigarh to Bihar by showing fake spare parts bills. One accused has been arrested. Police are busy searching for the kingpin who had finalized a deal for 802 boxes of English liquor with a supplier from Bihar for Rs 1.80 crore.
SP City Sarvesh Kumar Mishra told media persons that Police Station North and SOG have seized 802 boxes of English liquor of different brands in six four-wheeler trucks from Chandigarh. On information about carrying liquor from Chandigarh to Bihar, SOG in-charge Anuj Rana and SO Vaibhav Singh, SSI Mahavir Singh caught the consignment during checking near Nabab Degree College.
Along with this, Balwan alias Ballu, a resident of Dahtaura of Bahadurgarh Jhajjar has also been arrested. Two mobile phones and six-wheeler trucks have also been seized. SP City said that interstate liquor mafia Jitendra Saini, a resident of Behrod in Rajasthan's Alwar, had prepared fake documents of spare parts to deceive the police. Also, a mobile was given to the driver Balwan on which the route map was given on WhatsApp.
There has been a complete ban on the sale and storage of liquor by the Bihar government. Due to prohibition, there is more demand for liquor there. People are also ready to pay the asking price for liquor
