If Challans Issued Thrice In UP, The Drivers License Will Be Cancelled
Lucknow, December 7 (TNA) If you are a wreckless driver and a repeated offender of traffic rules in nUttar Pradesh, you are in for some serious trouble. For now on, driver's license will be cancelled if challan is issued more than three times. Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra gave instructions to this effect at a review meeting on Wednesday.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the functioning of various departments with District Magistrates and Divisional Commissioners through video conferencing. The Chief Secretary said that instructions have also been given orders to inspect the critical care facilities available in the districts from time to time so that the people affected by road accidents can get treatment in the districts.
The Chief Secretary has given instructions to cancel the license of any driver if he is challaned more than three times. Even after the license is cancelled, instructions have been given to cancel the registration of their vehicle if they violate traffic rules.
Mishra gave instructions to reduce road accidents by 50 percent. He directed officials to carry out other necessary work including checking of vehicles during the Road Safety Fortnight from 15th to 31st December.
