Illegal Pistol, Cartridges Found In Car That Met With An Accident In Bareilly, Belonged To Late Police Officer's Son
Bareilly, Sep 20 (TNA) In a routine search in a vehicle involved in a road accident in Bareilly, an illegal pistol and many cartridges were found in a police officer's son's car. After the car collided with the truck on Bada bypass.
Police suspect that the weapons were likely to be used for some crime. Some cash was also found. The car belongs to Veerasavarkar Nagar resident tattoo artist Shashwat Pratap Singh who was present in the car along with his brother-in-law Vinay Pratap.
Shashwat is the son of the a UP sub-police inspector who died last year. The ID card of the late cop was also found in the search of the car. Shashwat and his brother-in-law were admitted to the hospital in an injured condition from where Shashwat escaped.
Inspector Bithri, Manoj Tyagi, who reached the spot, took the truck and car in possession and sent it to the police station informed that when the car was searched at the police station, a .32 bore country-made pistol, two magazines, ten live cartridges and seven cartridge shells were found. Police also recovered five mobile phones from the vehicle.
Two cases have been registered in this case. The first case for the accident and second for the recovery of illegal arms and cartridges in the car.
