Income Tax Search On Kanpur-Based Paan Masala Group Concludes, Massive Black Money Unearthed

Kanpur, August 3 (TNA) A massive search operation at various properties and establishments of the SNK Paan Masala Business Group have concluded, an official of the Income Tax department said on Tuesday.

The searches and raids continued for more than five days at 31 different places spread across the state and some other places. The IT sleuths have recovered details about many benaami properties, bogus transactions, fake bank accounts and Rs 400 crore worth of unaccounted for transactions.

The IT department, informed sources said, have also laid their hands on a fake sale-purchase of Rs 80 crore worth of fertilisers. Rs 52 lakh in cash of which no details were available and 7 kilograms of gold have also been recovered.
