Intelligence Agencies Grill Engineering Student In Prayagraj Who Attacked Bus Conductor, House Searched

Prayagraj, November 28 (TNA) In the sensational case wher an engineering student had attacked a bus conductor with a Chapar two days back, intelligence agencies including the ATS have interrogated Laraib the accused and many electronic devices have been seized from his room.

The agencies also searched Laraib's house in Hajiganj, Soraon. Desktop, chip, pen drive, two mobiles, five diaries and bank passbooks of the entire family and other things have been seized from the house. These are being investigated. Agencies are also busy investigating whether Laraib has any connection with any terrorist organization.

On Saturday, ATS and other intelligence agencies interrogated B.Tech student Laraib Hashmi, who attacked the conductor Harikesh Vishwakarma with a sharp-edged weapon by raising religious slogans in the e-bus in the Industrial Police Station area on Friday morning. An ATS team from Varanasi reached SRN Hospital in the morning for questioning. IB and Local Intelligence Unit also conducted inquiries.

He had made a video with Chapar after the incident, in which he provoked a section of people in an objectionable manner. In this he is seen saying that whoever insults his religion will have the same fate. Even in the video, he was continuously raising religious slogans. The police had kept a guard at Laraib's house since night. The family members had already fled. Neighbors and friends have been questioned about his activities in the last few months.

Laraib Hashmi was suspended by the college management on Saturday. The incident and the student's video remained a topic of discussion among college students on Saturday. The students remained shy from talking to the media persons who reached the college on Saturday. Some said that he used to stay away from other students, but everyone was apprehensive about his involvement in such activities.
