Inter-State ‘Irani Gang’ of Robbers Busted By Varanasi Police
Varanasi, April 1 (TNA) Six robbers belonging to the inter-state ‘Irani Gang’ were arrested by the Varanasi Police on Friday. Recently, they had robbed a Ghazipur trader of Rs 8 lakh rupees in Thana Chowk. They would masquerade as policemen, intercept people and they loot them, Varansi police commissioner A Satish Ganesh informed.
An important trait of the gang was that they were on move constantly and did not spend more than two days in one city. Master Mind Abu Haider is a resident of Bhopal and his right-hand accompliceMehndi Hassanalso hails from Bhopal.
The SUV Tavera and 2 motorcycles used in the robbery were recovered. Out of the looted amount, about seven-and-a-half lakh rupees have also been recovered. A team is being sent to Bhopal for the documentation of this gang. The team which busted the gang and arrested the robbers is being given a reward of Rs 50,000.
