Irate Youth Go On Rampage Against Agnipath Scheme In Jaunpur

Jaunpur, June 18 (TNA) Violence broke out in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday as irate youngsters, protesting against the Agnipath scheme of the government of India, went on rampage.

They attacked vehicles, vandalised property and pelted stones near Lalabazar and Bargudar bridge on Jaunpur-Prayagraj road.

They also torched a roadways bus, vandalized many other vehicles includeing a police jeep belonging to the Machlishahar Kotwali. They also attacked policemen, leaving many of them injured. Police had to resort to minor cane charge to disperse the mob. Situation continues to be tense.
