Kanpur Police Commissioner Changed, Six Other Senior IPS Officers Transferred

Lucknow, January 2 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government has rejigged the police department and has transferred seven senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer on Monday. The most prominent transfer being the removal of Dr RK Swarnkar, who was the police commissioner of Kanpur. Akhil Kumar has replaced him.

Swarnkar has been assigned to PTC Sitapur as ADG. Rajeev Sabharwal has been named ADG of Dr BR Ambedkar Academy Moradabad. Another senior polcie officer, DK Thakur has been made ADG Meerut Zone while Sujit Pandey has been given charge of ADG of PAC. Ashok Kumar Singh has been made ADG Police Recruitment Board.
