The children told reporters that the locals had been for long demanding a link road between Meerut-Baghpatl Railway link road but the officers have not responded. The kids drawn from 15 schools, living in 40 residential colonies, were joined in by their parents as they protested on the Childrens Day.

The demand for the 800-metre link road has been hanging fire for the past twenty years, locals said. Facing inordinate delays while going to school, these kids came together and decided to take up the issue in a unique way, a local told TNA. They have also announced that from now on, till their demands are met, they will stage a ‘dharna’ every Sunday.
