Kanpur, November 1 (TNA) Three persons, including a woman have been arrested for kidnapping and murder of a 16-year-old boy in Kanpur. According to information, the arrested culprits include a lady tutor of the deceased Kushagra Kanodia. The other two have been identified as Prabhat Shukla and Shiva Gupta.

The tutor had hatched the conspiracy to kidnap the minor boy so that money can be arranged to fund her love marriage. The kidnappers had sought Rs 30 lakh as ransom but killed the boy by strangulating him. DCP Central Pramod Kumar said that he received information about the kidnapping of Kushagra, 16-year-old son of textile businessman Manish Kanodia, living in Acharya Nagar, and ransom of Rs 30 lakh, at around 8:30 pm on Monday night.

When he reached the spot with the team and started the investigation, within a few hours the needle of the investigation turned towards tuition teacher Rachita Vats. Police recovered the body of the student from the house of teacher's lover Prabhat Shukla in about 8 hours.

During strict interrogation, tuition teacher Rachita, accused of murder, started crying bitterly, while Prabhat was not waking up, but his girlfriend told everything truthfully. Rachita told that she is originally from Himachal Pradesh. His parents have passed away. About four years ago, while staying at Prabhat Shukla's house, the closeness between the two grew and then turned into love.

Prabhat, a B.Sc pass, earlier used to supply cloves, cardamom and spices to shops, but gradually that too stopped. Here Rachita's tuition was enough to meet her expenses. It was difficult to get married. Because of their live-in relationship, the society looked down upon them and taunted them. On October 13, when Rachita and her lover Prabhat also reached home on Kushagra's birthday, seeing the glamor there, he planned to kidnap Kushagra.
