Lakhimpur Kheri Incident: Murder Accused Ashish Mishra 'Monu' Sent To Jail At Midnight

Lakhimpur Kheri, Oct 10 (TNA) Minutes after he was arrested by the Crime Branch after long, sustained interrogation, Ashish Mishra aka Monu, son of union minister of state for home, Ajay Mishra Teni, was sent to jail at 12:48 am on Sunday, police said. Before this, he was subjected to a medical test at the police lines in presence of an SDM.

He was then produced before the duty magistrate after being taken out of the crime branch office at around 12.30 pm. Here the police sought his remand for three days.

Defense counsel opposed this. On this the duty magistrate ordered to send Ashish to jail in judicial custody. The next hearing will now take place on Monday.

Earlier on Saturday morning at 10.40 am, Monu suddenly appeared in front of the crime branch office, while his supporters were present at his father's parliamentary office.

Along with Ashish Mishra, Lakhimpur Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma, Ajay Mishra Teni's representative Arvind Singh Sanjay and Jitendra Singh Jitu came to the police line office with Ashish Mishra alias Monu.
