Lightning Strikes Kill 13 In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, July 6 (TNA) At least 13 persons have been killed across Uttar Pradesh in lightning strikes. According to officials, six persons were killed in Fatehpur, three in Prayagraj, two in Chitrakoot and two each in Banda and Kaushambi. There has been widespread rains across the state for the past two days.

Officials said after sowing rice in the fields two women and a few girls were standing under a tree in Shah village of Fatehpur’s Ghazipur, resting when lightning struck them, killing all on the spot. The police reached the scene of the mishap and took posession of the bodies, which were later sent for autopsy. Similar incidents took place in the other districts as well.
