Lucknow Bench Of The Allahabad HC Seeks Info From NTA, Central Government On Petition Of NEET Rigging
Lucknow, June 13 (TNA) In the complaint of rigging in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG-2024 for admission in medical colleges of the country, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court made a strict comment that this is a matter related to the future of the candidates, which we will take seriously. With this oral comment, the court has sought a reply from the Center and the National Testing Agency (NTA). The court has ordered the NTA lawyer to present the matter on June 18 with full information.
The single bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan during the summer vacation gave this order on Wednesday on the petition of local candidate Aayushi Patel. The petitioner said that his answer sheet was found in a torn condition, due to which his result was affected and he suffered mental trauma. The petitioner has requested the Central Government to issue instructions to conduct an inquiry against NTA regarding the alleged rigging in the case.
Along with this, he has also requested not to finalise the counselling process of NEET 2024. During the hearing, the advocates of the Center and NTA appeared. As the NTA's lawyer did not have complete information (instructions) on the case, the court has asked him to take full instructions from the NTA and present it on June 18.
Senior advocate SB Pandey, appearing for the Center, appeared with associate advocate Varun Pandey. Pandey said that there has been no rigging in the NEET 2024 exam. He said that the answer sheet of the petitioner, which is being said to be torn, is actually neither original nor torn. This answer sheet was sent to the petitioner from a personal ID, not NTA's ID. Pandey said that after the initial case hearing, the court ordered the Center and NTA to present their side and fixed the next hearing on June 18.
