Lucknow Court Fines AAP Leader Sanjay Singh Who Falsely Accused Former UP Minister Mahendra Singh
Lucknow, January 4 (TNA) A Lucknow court, has fined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh Rs one lakh and has ordered him to remove all false videos and posts from social media. Two years ago, the then Jal Shakti Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mahendra Singh was accused by Singh of bribery and other things in the Har Ghar Jal scheme of the central government.
In this matter, a defamation case was filed in the Lucknow court. Commenting on Sanjay Singh in its detailed order, the court has said that it has become a habit of Sanjay Singh to make baseless allegations in press conferences, he does not provide any evidence in favor of his allegations whereas Mahendra Singh is a responsible leader of BJP and his image is that of a respected politician.
The court has also ordered that if Sanjay Singh does not pay the fine of Rs 1 lakh within two months, he will have to pay the fine along with 6% interest from the date of the decision. Singh, who is a Rajya Sabha member, currently is in Tihar jail for his alleged role in the Delhi Liquor scam.
