Magh Mela Begins Tomorrow In Prayagraj, All Preps Complete
Prayagraj, January 5 (TNA) Magh Mela, that draws thousands of devotees from all across the country to the sands of Sangam - the trinity of the holy Ganga, Yamuna and mystical Saraswati river, will begin in the holy city on Friday.
For a safe and succesful fair, the district administration and the police have made full arrangements, an official told TNA. 14 bathing ghats have been built where devotees will take the holy dip on January 6 in the Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, a lucky time.
Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant reviewed the preparations of the fair area on Wednesday and held a review meeting of the works with the officials. During this, he was informed that 14 bathing ghats have been built in the Magh Mela area, so that the Kalpavasis and devotees do not face any kind of problems.
The UPSRTC and the Indian railways are running special buses and trains for the holy bathing days and efforts are underway to ensure that screening for COVID is also done for all who are entering the Magh Mela premises. Two days back chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and DGP DS Chauhan were in the city to assess the preparations.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is said to be personally monitoring the preps to ensure that all goes well. The fair will conclude on February 18.
