Mahakumbh To Begin In Prayagraj On January 13, 2025
Prayagraj, October 18 (TNA) This time Mahakumbh will start from January 13, 2025 and will continue till February 26. This mega fest will run for over 45 days. During this period, more than six crore devotees are expected to come to the fair. 40 lakh devotees might come for the royal bathing days, an official said. There could also be 40 lakh Kalpavasis.
The fair area will be monitored with drones. The focus is on completing the construction of ropeway, Pipa bridge, ROB etc. in the fair area on time and making arrangements for the stay of general devotees along with VIPs.
Urban Development Minister AK Sharma on Tuesday reviewed 260 projects of various departments at a cost of about Rs 3738 crore. He instructed the officers to continuously monitor the works and make smooth arrangements of basic facilities like drinking water, toilets, electricity supply, parking etc. Along with removing encroachments from roads and intersections, it has been asked to widen and beautify them.
The fair area will be in four thousand hectares
Fair Officer Vijay Kiran Anand said that more devotees are expected to come in Mahakumbh 2025 than the previous Kumbh, hence the fair area will be spread over an area of four thousand hectares and in 25 sectors. Parking arrangements will be made in approximately 1800 hectares.
Seven 13-kilometer-long river front roads, development of green belt, arrangements for drinking water, toilets, electricity system and vending zones will also be made. One thousand shuttle buses along with electric buses will be arranged for the devotees in the fair area.
