Mainpuri Police Warns People Spreading Rumours That Internet Would Be Switched Off On Vote Counting Day

Mainpuri, March 9 (TNA) After some mischief makers on the social media spread a rumour that the internet will be down on Thursday, as the vote count for the state assembly polls commences, the Mainpuri Police on Wednesday warned such elements and threatened them of legal action. On some Twitter handles, individuals owing allegiance to the Samajwadi Party (SP) have said that as a planned conspiracy the internet would be switched off on the vote counting day.

The Mainpuri police immediatly swung intoi action and said “tight security arrangements have been made in connection with the counting of votes. Strict action will be taken against any kind of anti-social elements. Don't spread such misleading news.” They further clarified that no net closing action will be taken in any way.
