Make Roads Pothole-Free By October 31, UP Chief Secretary Tells Officials
Lucknow, October 19 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra has directed officials to ensure that all roads in the state are pothole free by end of October. He also said that pictures should be taken by drones to ensure complete compliance.
PWD has so far claimed to have made 20,916 km of pothole-free roads and refurbished 17,978 km of roads. The work of pothole-free 3,090 km roads and renovation of 19,448 km roads of other concerned departments has also been done.
The top bureaucrat also said that departmental officers should expedite the spot inspection and that drainage arrangements should also be ensured along with the quality of roads. It was informed in the meeting that 51,060 km of roads of Public Works Department, National Highways, Panchayati Raj, Irrigation Department, Rural Development, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Planning and Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department have been marked for pothole-free and 33,720 km of roads for renovation.
