Man Arrested In UP's Saharanpur For Hacking Election Commission Website, Creating 10000 Fake Voter IDs
Saharanpur, August 13 (TNA) A young cyber criminal gang was arrested by the Saharanpur Police on Friday for hacking the Election Commission of India (ECI) website. A police official said that in the past three months, hackers had made more than 10 thousand fake voter ID cards.
The cyber cell has arrested a young man named Vipul Saini. He is a Bachelor in Computer Application and a transaction of Rs 60 lakh has been traced to his bank account. In the interrogation, Vipul said that he was doing this at the behest of Arman Malik, a resident of Harda, Madhya Pradesh. Security agencies have been alerted after Vipul's arrest.
According to Cyber Cell, he used to get 100 to 200 rupees per id card. Depending on the work, the money came into his bank account. However, the police did not disclose where the money was transferred from.
Further inquiries will be made by the Delhi Police who had tipped off their Saharanpur counterparts of the wrong doing. Senior Superintendent of Police S Chinappa confirmed that accused Vipul Saini was hacking the Election Commission of India's website.
