Lucknow, Nov 26 (TNA) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday named Uma Shankar Singh as the new leader of the legislature party in the state assembly. The decision follows the resignation of Shah Alam aka Guddu Jamali on Thursday.

He had claimed that he was being neglected in the pprty and had quit from all party posts. The BSP however had trashed these claims and said that Alam wanted undue favours from the BSP supremo in a case in which a woman employee had levelled accusations against him.

Uma Shankar Singh is a BSP legislator from Rasra assembly seat in Ballia. Mayawati said she was confident that Singh would discharge his duties in the new assignment to the best of his abilities.
