On July 2, 2020, joint police teams of Bithur, Chaubepur and Shivrajpur police stations had raided the house of gangster Vikas Dubey, resident of Bikru village in Chaubepur but the gangster had got a whiff of the impending raid and he had ambushed and attacked the police team, leaving eight policemen including the then CO of Bilhaur, Devendra Mishra dead.
Other sacrifices included the then SO of Shivrajpur Mahesh Yadav, Mandhana outpost in-charge Anoop Kumar Singh, SI Nebulal and constables Jitendra Pal, Sultan Singh, Rahul Kumar and Bablu Kumar. Since this incident, there is a proposal to build a memorial for the brave martyrs of Bikru, but till now this plan has not been implemented. Kanpur Outer SP Ajit Saxena informed that Chaubepur police station is being demolished due to the widening of the highway.
There is a proposal to construct a new two-storey police station. In this proposal, he has suggested to build a memorial of Bikru sacrificers inside the police station. If the authorities accept this proposal, then the memorial will be given shape by installing the statues of all the martyred cops.
