Agra, August 3 (TNA) In a noble move that not only goes a long way in strengthening women empowerment but also in solidifying social bonds, women prisoners of the District Jail have prepared attractive rakhis for the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

On Wednesday, Women's Welfare and Child Development minister Baby Rani Maurya launched these rakhis in a program organized in the jail premises.

This initiative has been taken by the social organization Ayushman Trust for the mental health of the women prisoners lodged in the district jail for the last 3 months. To make the women prisoners self-reliant, training was given with the help of the jail administration.

After this, the women prisoners made beautiful rakhis. Financial help will be given to women prisoners by disseminating these rakhis among different sections of the society.
