Mission Shakti Programmes To Kickstart In UP From April 11

Lucknow, April 10 (TNA) Following up on its continued committment to protect, respect and make women and daughters self-reliant, the Uttar Pradesh government will roll out special programs across the state under the Mission Shakti from April 11. The events will be organised by the Women's Welfare Department. Under these special programs self-reliance camps, awareness programs, mega events will be organized across the state.

All the preparations have been completed at the administrative level and official said while informing that in line with the wishes of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, the programs have been tailormade keeping in mind that the benefits and information of the golden schemes implemented for the upliftment of women and daughters of all classes can be obtained.

"Mission Shakti" in its first avtaar has seen positive results. Manoj Rai, Director, Women's Welfare and Child Development, said that Swavalamban Camp would be organized in the state on April 27, under which the government's golden schemes like Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojna, Destitute Women's Pension Scheme and other schemes would be implemented.

District Magistrates of all the districts will lead this program. Along with this, debates and awareness programs will also be organized. The District Magistrate and DPO will interact with adolescent girls and women for two hours and sensitise them on issues like sexual exploitation, gender inequality, domestic violence, female feticide, gender violence at workplace and dowry harassment.

Protection, security, suggestions will also be given to women and girls on these issues. The women folk will also be informed about their rights and various safety, welfare and security schemes being run by the Yogi government.
