Modi, Yogi To Give Gift Of Clean Water To 41 Lakh Villagers In Mirzapur, Sonbhadra On Saturday
Lucknow, Nov 19 (TNA) Villagers of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra will no longer have to struggle for drinking water. Rural women are going to get rid of the the huge task to carry water from miles away. This, as the Yogi government is rolling out the 'Har Ghar Nal Yojana' to over 41 lakh villagers of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the scheme in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under the central government's Har Ghar Nal Yojana, the Yogi government will start drinking water supply through pipes in 1606 villages of Mirzapur.
This scheme will directly benefit 2187980 villagers of Mirzapur. 1389 villages of Sonbhadra will be started connecting Har Ghar Nal Yojana. 1953458 families of these villages will join the drinking water supply scheme.
In Sonbhadra, water from the lake and rivers will be purified and supplied for drinking. The government will spend Rs 3212.18 crore on this scheme in Sonbhadra. The water collected at the dam in Mirzapur will be purified and then supplied by making it potable.
According to officials of the Ministry of Water Power, water supply will be started in the villages within the next two years after completing the scheme.
