Mohd Shami’s Native Village In UP To Have A Stadium Soon, Proposal Sent To Yogi
Lucknow, November 18 (TNA) After the brilliant show at the ICC World Cup 2023 semi-final against South Africa in Mumbai this week, Mohd Shami has become the sweeheart of cricket lovers in India, s[ecially in his home state of Uttar Pradesh. His seven-wicket haul has prompted the Yogi Adityanath government in UP to construct a stadium at Shami’s native village in Amroha.
According to reports, a piece of 2.47 acre land in the village has already been identified by district officials and a proposal to the chief minister's office has been sent to build a stadium. The proposal, an official said, was part of the state's government earlier plan to build 20 stadiums in rural areas across the state.
The stadium will have an open gym, race track and other facilities. Shami has grown up in Sahaspur village. His father Tousif Ali, a farmer, was a fast bowler as well and was his childhood coach.
