More Than 37000 Loud Speakers So Far Removed From Religious Shrines In Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow, April 29 (TNA) So far more than 37,000 loudspeakers have beenr emoved from religious places in Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Friday. This was done by the management of both Hindu and Muslim shrines on their own after the state government started a drive to enforce the orders of the supreme court.
“People voluntarily removed loudspeakers from religious establishments from many places in Uttar Pradesh”, UP's Additional Chief Secretary, Home Avnish Awasthi said. He said that after the order was issued, people have voluntarily removed loudspeakers from temples and mosque premises with the spirit of mutual cooperation and harmony.
The ACS said that after the government instructions wereissued regarding loudspeakers, religious leaders came forward and appealed to maintain communal harmony, which had a positive and wide effect. While speaking about the Friday prayers - Alvida Namaaz, Awasthi said that the religious leaders have cooperated with the administration and Namaz is not being offered on the streets.
Speaking about law and order during festivals, he said that action is being taken against those who spread religious hatred and try to foment trouble and action will continue against mafia-goons.
