Muharram Holiday In Allahabad High Court Shifted By A Day, Three-Day Consecutive Closure Now

Prayagraj, August 17 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court will remain closed for three days now owing to holidays and the Muharram holiday, earlier scheduled for August 19, will now be on August 20. This order was issued by the acting Chief Justice of the HC, MN Bhandari on Tuesday.

This holiday change will now also be applicable for the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC as well. Before this, the Registrar of Allahabad HC had issued a circular saying that the August 19 would be a holiday for Muharram.

But with the shifting of this holiday to August 20, the court will now have three consecutive holidays - August 20, then Saturday (august 21) and Sunday (August 22).

This would mean that after August 19, the court will now directly reopen on August 23, ie a Monday.
