Mukhtar Ansari Produced Before Special CBI Court In Lucknow In Money Laundering Case, Next Hearing On April 19

Lucknow, April 10 (TNA) Mafia don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari appeared before the special CBI Special Court in Lucknow in the money laundering case on Monday. Under heavy security escort, Ansari smiled as he passed through a battery of lensman who were in the court premises to cover the event.

Charges were to be framed against Mukhtar in the money laundering case, but the charges are yet to be framed. The court has given the next date in the matter on April 19. After this, Mukhtar was sent back to Banda Jail. In March 2021, Enforcement Directorate (ED) had registered a case of money laundering against Mukhtar Ansari, after which ED officials went to Banda Jail in November 2021 and interrogated him and also recorded his statement.

In this case, the ED team has also questioned other members of Mukhtar's family. In which both the sons of Mukhtar, brother Afzal Ansari, Sibgatullah Ansari and nephew have been interrogated. Mukhtar's son Abbas Ansari is lodged in Chitrakoot jail, brother-in-law is Naini Central Jail in the money laundering case.
