Murder Accused Of Killing A Professor In Saharanpur Shot Dead In Police Encounter As He Tried To Flee From Custody
Shahjahanpur, Sep 20 (TNA) The criminal who murdered an assistant professor in Shahjahanpur has been killed by the police in an encounter. The accused miscreant had snatched the pistol of the inspector and ran away and opened fire on the police. The police also opened fire in defence, killing the criminal on the spot.
The miscreant had entered the house of the assistant professor in the early hours of Tuesday. When surrounded, six members of the family were attacked with a knife and injured. Assistant Professor Alok Gupta (36) was stabbed to death by the miscreant in Mohalla Bazaar of Meeranpur Katra. Neighbors had caught Shahbaz from the spot as he was trying to flee the crime scene and had handed him over to the police.
Shahbaz, who ran away after snatching the pistol of the Inspector while being taken to appear in the court late in the evening, was killed by the police in an encounter. Alok Gupta, the deceased, was working at Sun Institute of Management and Technology near Shahjahanpur city.
Seeing Alok who woke up after hearing the sound, the miscreants attacked him. The miscreant also stabbed and injured Alok's wife Khushboo Gupta alias Sonam, younger brother Prashant Gupta, his wife Ruchi Gupta, father Sudhir Gupta and Alok's daughter Ambika (6) and son (4).
