Muslim Heavyweight Imran Masood Quits SP, Joins BSP
Lucknow, Oct 20 (TNA) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) which received considerable support of the Muslims in the Azamgarh bypolls received another shot in the arm on Wednesday as Samajwadi party (SP) leader and Muslim heavyweight in western Uttar Pradesh, Imran Masood joined hands with Mayawati. Masood was earlier in Congress and had joined the SP before 2022 state assembly elections.
The four-time UP chief minister, in a series of tweets, welcomed the development and expressed hope that the coming of Masood into the party fold will strengthen BSP’s fight for the welfare of Muslims. She also announced that Imran Masood has been named the coordinator of the party for western UP.
