Navodaya Vidyalaya Student Death: Trouble For Two Former Mainpuri Police Officers As SIT Holds Them Guilty

Mainpuri, January 6 (TNA) Trouble of then CO and the station in-charge of Bhogaon has increased in the matter related to Navodaya Vidayala girl students death. The SIT has held these police officers guilty of negligence in investigation and has filed a charge sheet against them.

ADG Kanpur Bhanu Bhaskar has written a letter to ADG Agra to take action on these officers and has sought a report of the investigation done on these officers. On 16 September 2019, body of a class 11 student was found hanging in Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bhogaon.

At that time the jurisdictional officer of Bhogaon was Prayank Jain. Pahup Singh was posted as Kotwali in-charge. These officers were suspended after the incident after the death of the student and the investigation confirmed negligence. On the instructions of the High Court, the SIT, headed by ADG Kanpur Bhanu Bhaskar, is investigating the death of the student.

The SIT has arrested Sushma Sagar, the former principal of Navodaya, who was accused on the complaint of the girl's father in this case and sent her to jail. The bail application of Sushma Sagar has also been rejected by the court. Now the SIT is probing the role of the then police officers.
