Neeraj Chopra Has Shown What Farmers Have Given To India, But Also To Note How Badly Modi Govt Treats Them: AAP Leader
Lucknow, August 8 (TNA) As India celebrated the stunning 'gold haul' of Neeraj Chopra and politicians, film stars, common man heaped praise on him for bringing the first and only gold in track and field at Olympics, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that it also reminded the country of the great contributions of farmers to the nation.
Vaibhav Maheshwari, chief spokesman of the AAP, Uttar Pradesh unit on Sunday said that the historic event as an "opportunity to the Narendra Modi government at the centre to realise the immense contribution of farmers".
He added that the fact that Chopra was son of a Haryana farmer should now deter the Modi government to stop abusing the farmer community by calling them "terrorists and anti-national"
Chopra, he said, had proved beyond doubt again, that framers have in so many ways brought laurels to the country for ages. "Is it time not only to celebrate the sporting success but also to recognise the tears, sweat and toil behind the young mans success" he said further.
In an apparent reference to the cold-shouldering go the farmer protests, going on for so many months now, against the three farm laws brought by the NDA government, the AAP leader further alleged that the "Modi government which seems to have taken a contract to annihilate farmers of the country" will now "to shamelessly try on camera to snatch the credit of Neeraj Chopra".
"Just wait and watch to see this spectacle unfold soon" he forewarned the people. AAP has been vocally critical of the Modi government for its handling of the ongoing farmers protest and have thrown their lot behind the farmers, seeking a roll back of the three farm laws which they say were anti-farmer.
