Nithari Case: Allahabad HC To Today Pronounce Verdict On Death Sentence Of Surendra Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher

Prayagraj, October 16 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court will give its verdict today on confirmation of death sentence of accused in Nithari case. The death sentence was given by the trial court to Surendra Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher, found guilty in the famous Nithari case of Noida.

A division bench of Justice Ashwini Kumar Mishra and Justice Syed Aftab Hussain Rizvi had reserved the verdict on September 14 in a total of 12 appeals and court references related to the death penalty awarded to the accused last month.

While Koli was awarded death sentence in more than 10 cases, Pandher was also awarded death sentence in three cases by the trial court. It is noteworthy that on September 14, the verdict in the case was reserved after the hearing through virtual mode on scientific evidence by the advocates of the appellant Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli. It is known that the infamous Nithari massacre took place between 2005 and 2006.

This matter came to light when in December 2006, skeletons were found in the drain near the house of Moninder Singh Pandher in Nithari, Noida. CBI registered a total of 16 cases in this case. In all of them, Moninder's servant Koli was accused of murder, kidnapping and rape, along with destruction of evidence, and in one case, Pandher was accused of immoral trafficking. According to the CBI, Koli had murdered several girls and dismembered their bodies and thrown them in the drain outside the house.
