Noose Tightens On IPS Nilabja Choudhary-Anant Dev Tiwari, Ministry Of Home Affairs Orders Probe

Lucknow, June 20 (TNA) Noose has tightened on senior IPS officials Anant Dev Tiwari and Nilabja Chuadhary in the infamous Bikru case of Kanpur. Anant Dev Tiwari has been SSP Kanpur and is accused of giving full protection to the Vikas Dubey’s ‘cashier’ Jai Bajpai. The SIT had convicted Anant Dev in the investigation. Whereas Nilabja Chaudhary had given a clean chit after investigating the role of Anant Dev Tiwari in the case.

The Union Home Ministry has sent a letter to the complainant Saurabh Bhadauria for the investigation of IPS Nilabja Chaudhary and Anant Dev Tiwari. Joint Secretary Saheli Ghosh and UP Chief Secretary DS Mishra will investigate. There will be a detailed inquiry into Anant Dev Tiwari's relationship with Jai Bajpai and his associates.

Whereas IPS Nilabja Chaudhary will be investigated for giving clean chit to Anant Dev. Separate committees of Joint Secretary and Chief Secretary will both investigate. The then SO Vinay Tiwari and Inspector KK Sharma, who were in jail for helping gangster Vikas Dubey till last month, have also been sacked. Even before this, 21 policemen have been punished earlier.

On July 2, 2020, the police team that went to raid the house of Vikas Dubey in Bikru village of Chaubepur was attacked by his henchmen, leaving eight policemen including the then CO of Bilhaur martyred.
