Lucknow, December 23 (TNA) After the Gift Deed, the Stamp and Registration Department in Uttar Pradesh has taken a new initiative for the convenience of the common people in Uttar Pradesh. Under this, for the first time, the way to give e-stamp from the post office has also been opened. This pilot project will start from 11 districts on January 1. This will effectively curb the black marketing of stamps.

Minister of State for Stamps and Registration (Independent Charge) Ravindra Jaiswal said that taking important steps in the direction of e-governance and Digital India, New Year's gift is being given to 11 big districts of the state.

Regarding this, there was a meeting between the Postal Department and the Stock Holding Corporation on Friday between him and Chief Postmaster General.

The minister said that e-stamps are being sold through vendors at higher prices. Vendors get 23 paise commission on a Rs 100 stamp, but even a Rs 10 stamp is sold for Rs 15. Also, people have to run around to get the stamp. The minister said that earlier the department itself used to get the stamps printed and gave them on commission. The department spent Rs 1900 crore on this. After the implementation of e-stamp, the government is saving this money. The responsibility of e-stamp has been given to the Stock Holding Corporation.

In the coming time, the facility of selling e-stamp from the post office will reach every village. In such a situation, villagers will not have to race to the city for a stamp. The minister said that soon this system will be implemented in all the post offices of the entire state.

Starting from these districts

Lucknow GPO, Kanpur Head Post Office, Collectorate Sub Post Office Agra, Prayagraj Court Head Post Office, Varanasi Court Sub Post Office, Gorakhpur Court Sub Post Office, Meerut Court Sub Post Office, Saharanpur Head Post Office, Sector 34 Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad Head Post Office and Bijnor Head Post Office. .
