Now Uttar Pradesh Police Will Settle Complaints In Ten Days, Web Portal Launched
Lucknow, December 20 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh DGP Vijay Kumar has instructed all police officers that public complaints received at the police station level should be resolved within ten days. For this he has also launched a departmental portal. Now the police will update every complaint coming at the police station level on this portal and higher officials will keep an eye on it.
If it takes more than ten days to resolve any complaint, the concerned police officers will have to answer to the higher authorities regarding the delay. On the occasion of launching the portal, the DGP said that the officers will ensure that all types of complaints coming in the police stations are immediately updated on the portal.
Also, the phone number and address of the complainant should also be written separately. Higher officials will contact the complainant directly if needed. He directed that the district police chiefs should review the complaints received on the portal once in 15 days. This will be further be regularly monitored by the wing formed for redressal of complaints at the police headquarters level.
Strict action will be taken against employees who deliberately delay in resolving complaints, the DGP warned. Following the instructions of the government, the DGP has launched a WhatsApp channel to publicize the commendable work done by the police among the people. He said that all the districts will have separate channels. Unlimited number of common people can be added to these. Similarly, the headquarters level will also be a channel.
Through these, the police will share their commendable work with the people. Refuting misleading news will also be broadcast on these channels. Besides, traffic related suggestions will also be given to the people. The channel has been named UP Police.
