Agra June 25 (TNA) On Monday evening, the artists of Nritya Jyoti Kathak Kendra captivated the audience at Sur Sadan Auditorium with a powerful dance drama titled “Mein Gun Gunaungi.” The performance, depicting the pain and neglect of Yamuna Maaiyya, left the audience in awe. In just one hour, the artists brilliantly presented thousands of years of history through live depiction, sweet music, attractive costumes, and a powerful script.

Under the direction of Vidushi Jyoti Khandelwal, pride of Agra, the local artists executed a daring and adventurous experiment combining acting, dialogue, dance, and song on this burning theme. Her dedication and passion for dance were evident, and her husband, Shri Vishal Jha, added to the spiritual atmosphere with his melodious worship of Bhole Nath Shiv Shankar. Dr. Vijay Sharma's creative contributions, including two poignant songs, beautifully conveyed the irony and reality of today's situation.

Program presenter Shruti Sinha ensured the event remained engaging till the end, impressing everyone with her effective and polite presentation. Those who missed the performance should look forward to the next Kathak Utsav to experience this remarkable blend of art, acting, music, and spirituality.

A commendable initiative was the inauguration by brave heroines of the Sheroes Hangout instead of a so-called VIP, with blessings from the Brahma Kumari sisters adding spiritual energy to the program. The audience's encouragement of cultural and artistic activities was greatly appreciated.

The musical play by Jyoti Kathak Kendra highlighted the plight of the Yamuna River, serving as an important reminder of our shared responsibility towards this lifeline of our city and heritage. The River Connect Campaign has worked tirelessly for the past ten years to save the Yamuna from pollution and water crisis. Despite numerous challenges and unfulfilled promises from political leaders, the campaign remains committed to restoring the Yamuna to its former glory.

The River Connect campaign will launch new initiatives to reinvigorate efforts and provide momentum to this mission. With collective support, the Yamuna can be revitalized, ensuring it continues to nourish Agra for generations to come. The evening's performance was a powerful medium to raise awareness and ignite a sense of urgency among citizens.

Let us draw inspiration from the Yamuna’s resilience and remain steadfast in our efforts. Together, we can restore the holy Yamuna River to its true glory, making it a symbol of our culture, heritage, and spirituality. Every small step towards its restoration matters, and by coming together as a community, we can create a ripple of positive change.

Let us show our commitment and make a difference, members of the River Connect Campaign Dr Harendra Gupta, Dr Devashish Bhattacharya, Rahul Raj, Deepak Rajput, Padmini Iyer, Shahtosh Gautam, Chaturbhuj Tiwari, Jagan Prasad Teheriya and others said in an appeal.
