One Killed In Explosion At Oxygen Plant In Barabanki

Barabanki, May 13 (TNA) A massive explosion took place in an oxygen gas plant on Monday afternoon in an oxygen gas plant near Safedabad in the Kotwali area of Barabanki city. The explosion was so severe that the tin shed of the plant was blown away and a laborer working in it was badly injured.

Cylinders are refilled at an oxygen plant called Sarang Plastic Private Limited near Safedabad. As usual, work was going on on Monday afternoon also. During this time there was a sudden massive explosion in the plant which shocked the people nearby. When the local people reached the spot, the tin shed of the plant had been blown away. The debris was scattered over a distance of three-four hundred meters.

Keshav Ram, a laborer working in the plant, told police that a labourer named Lalji from Manera village was working at the place where the explosion took place. Who was hit by the explosion and was blown to pieces. About half an hour after the incident, city police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot. City Kotwal Ajay Kumar Tripathi said that rescue operation was underway.
