Online Challan On Meerut-Delhi Expressway If You Overshoot Speed Limit

Meerut, July 20 (TNA) Online challan will be slapped on speeding vehicles on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway from now on, an official said. For this, 150 high resolution cameras and sensors have been installed on the expressway from Dasna to Meerut.

If the maximum speed of the vehicle on this expressway exceeds 100 kmph then the challan would be claimed and would be sent to the vehicle owners address. Officials told TNA that in case of a vehicle over shoots the prescribed speed limit, a red signal will blink on the control room and action would be initiated.

The Delhi-Meerut Expressway is the first 14-lane expressway in the country where this technology is being used for the first time. High resolution cameras can easily monitor the speed of the vehicle moving at high speed.
