Owing To A String Of Festivals, Leaves Of All UP Police Personnel Cancelled Till July 31

Lucknow, June 26 (TNA) In view of the upcoming festivals, which include the Hindu holy months of Saawan, Muslim festival of Bakrid, the Kanwar Yatra, Guru Purnima and Moharram, all falling in the month of July, all leaves of Uttar Pradesh policemen have been cancelled, starting today.

DGP Vijay Kumar issued an order to cancel the holidays of the policemen late Sunday. In this regard, the order sent to all ADG Zones, Police Commissioners, IG Ranges and Police Captains of districts states that in view of upcoming Bakrid, Kanwar Yatra, Shravan Shivratri and Moharram, leave will not be granted to policemen from June 26 to July 31.

This is not for the first time that such a move has taken place, in the past too leave cancellations have taken place. However, under special circumstances, it will be necessary for cops to take permission of senior officers for leave. The DGP has asked for strict compliance of this order.
