Owing To COVID Spike, Banks In UP To Work For Four Hours Only From Tomorrow
Lucknow, April 21 (TNA) Owing to the surge in the Coronavirus cases, banks in Uttar Pradesh have changed their operation timings. A decision to this effect was taken at a state-level bankers meet on Tuesday. The banks will now work between 10 am to 2 pm every day.
During this four-hour opening, the banks will primarily work for cash deposit, cash withdrawal, cheque clearance, remittance and government business, an official informed. The order comes into force from April 22 and for now will be implemented till May 15.
A call to extend it or put it to an end will be taken in mid-May, it was informed. A decision has also been taken to cut the staff and call them in rotation.
