PAC Driver Collapses, Dies During Race For Promotion In Lucknow

Lucknow, Oct 10 (TNA) A race for promotion of drivers turned into a tragedy at the Mahanagar PAC Ground in the state capital on the weekend as while running, a driver Mohan Ram (56) fell down because of breathlesness and died on the way to a medical facility.

He had come for the race from the Prayagraj Fire Station, Naini. Fire Officer Hazratganj Ram Kumar Rawat said that a total of 19 drivers from different districts had come to participate in the race organized at PAC Ground. The deceased was participating in a 3200 meters race, which meant eight rounds of the ground.

Mohan Ram fell down in the sixth round. He was immediately sent to the hospital by ambulance. Where the doctors declared him brought dead. The information about the incident was given to officer Naini Lalji Gupta. As soon as the information was received, the family members rushed to the hospital.

Mohan Ram was originally from Saidpur in Ghazipur. His son Sandeep said that his father was a heart patient and had undergone treatment in February this year. The family however has not pressed any charges against the organisers.
