Panic Button Installed In 4,000 UP Roadways Buses, To be Available From January 20

Lucknow, December 31 (TNA) The Transport Corporation officials have informed that the panic buttons installed from Nirbhaya Fund will provide immediate help to women in case of inconvenience in the bus. Ten buttons are installed in each bus. If necessary, as soon as the button is pressed, information will immediately go to the centralized command center and dial 112.

Traveling in buses has become even safer in the state. On pressing a button the police will immediately reach for help. Panic buttons have been installed in a total of four thousand roadways buses. Preparations are on to launch this facility on January 20. In the next phase, panic buttons will also be installed in three thousand contracted buses.

With the help of the Nirbhaya Fund created after the Nirbhaya incident in 2012, the Transport Corporation administration prepared a plan to strengthen the safety of buses. The plan to install panic buttons in buses was implemented with a total budget of Rs 71 crore. A Japanese company was entrusted with the responsibility of installing the panic button.

Ten buttons installed in every bus, will be connected to 112

Transport Corporation officials said that the panic buttons installed from Nirbhaya Fund will provide immediate help to women in case of inconvenience in the bus. Ten buttons are installed in each bus. If necessary, as soon as the button is pressed, information will be immediately sent to the centralized command center and dial 112, after which the police will reach the spot and help the victim.

Hundred LED screens will also be installed to provide information

Panic buttons will be installed in buses for safety reasons. In this sequence, 100 LED screens will also be installed at bus stands with the money from Nirbhaya Fund. These screens will be installed at more than 150 bus stands in 20 areas of the state. Through these, passengers will get information about the movement of buses.

In the first phase, panic buttons were installed in four thousand buses by the Roadways Administration. In the next phase, panic buttons will also be installed in contracted buses. Panic buttons will be installed in a total of three thousand buses. For this, Rs 13,000 will be taken from the contracted bus owners, from which the payment will be made to the company installing the button.
